With the spiker machines rattling away like machine-guns, but far behind the rest of the machines, one of the MOW workers walks back down the tracks to see what's holding them up. As he passes by he says, "Oh, just in case you were wondering, we replace an average of 2700 ties per day! --The record is 5000!". With that, he smiled and went on his way, and soon after that, I was on my way as well. Thanks to all those that kept me informed and made me feel at home while I was shooting these photos for two hours!
