The desktop wallpapers on this website are available in .jpg format to keep the filesize and download times low. These images are directly downloadable in 800 x 600 pixel resolution. This is the largest size I have available on the website. If you run your computer at 1024 x 768 pixels, e-mail me and I will scan the image at that resolution. Similarly, if you run at 640 x 480 resolution, you can e-mail me and I will send you that size.
To see what resolution your computer is displaying, right-click on your desktop, select "Properties", and choose the "Settings" tab (this is for Windows 95/98/NT). For other systems, review your operating system instructions to see how to check your display resolution.
There are two ways to use these images as your desktop wallpaper. The easiest way is to click on the thumbnail of the image you would like (see the Thumbnail Index), and then right-click on the image and select "Set as Wallpaper". Your browser will automatically set the image as your background.
For those who would like to save these images for later use, click on the thumbnail of the image you would like (see the Thumbnail Index), and then right-click on the image and select "Save Image As" or "Save Picture As" (depending on your browser). Make sure you remember where you are saving the wallpapers. Once you have saved them on your computer, you can view them (offline) with a browser and install them as in the above procedure. If you have a separate program which handles wallpapers, you may also be able to select them from there.
Again, for most users the best way would probably be to set the image as your wallpaper directly through the browser. In any case, I hope you enjoy these wallpapers! I will add more in the future.
