A fill will be constructed on the old roadbed where the new tracks will be elevated to eliminate three grade crossings in Belmont and San Carlos.

I'm not sure if a sign was necessary to tell people that the old platforms are closed (it's obvious enough, seeing as how the tracks are missing), but at least an arrow points toward the new platforms.

This is what's left of the old platforms and right of way in San Carlos. This should be about twenty feet underground when the project is complete.

Finally, the elevated section of track is in service and the shoofly is being taken apart. This is a photo of the new San Carlos station on it's first morning of operation. On the left, the original station building is visible adjacent to the fill on which the new tracks now sit.

A view from the platform of the new Belmont station as train 246 cruises in for a stop. The steel structure with the little clock tower houses a stairway which goes down to ground level, as well as an elevator for persons with disabilities.
